Study Film and Television at the VCA

We balance intensive, studio-based practice with critical studies. You will have the opportunity to form professional relationships and bonds that will last throughout your career.

We have several areas of specialisation at undergraduate and graduate levels: Animation, Documentary, Narrative, Producing and Screenwriting.

VCA Film and Television Digital Archive

The VCA Film and Television Digital Archive is an online repository of more than 1,850 student films, dating back to 1966. The VCA Film and Television Digital Archive provides online access, for the first time, to the audiovisual holdings of Australia's oldest continuing film school.

Our people

In 2017 I felt the need to challenge myself more intellectually and creatively and I wanted to broaden my portfolio and push myself in a different direction. After a meeting with producer and VCA lecturer Gus Howard, studying the Master of Producing at the VCA seemed like the next logical step in my career. Surrounding our weekly classes in the craft and business of film making and creative producing, are ad hoc meetings with VCA screenwriters, directors and producers about our upcoming VCA projects. There are lots of opportunities to discuss your own work, and for other students to showcase theirs.
